VIDEO DESIGN: Singin in the Rain in the West End

Singin in the Rain made it's West End transfer this month to the Palace Theatre, taking over from Priscilla. Reviews were fantastic, with many giving praise to the video elements.

"this stage version makes brilliant and hilarious use of specially filmed footage of the movie the characters are supposedly making. this stage version makes brilliant and hilarious use of specially filmed footage of the movie the characters are supposedly making." ***** Telegraph

"elegant design by Simon Higlett and ingenious video by Ian William Galloway, which draws some of the biggest laughs" **** Evening Standard

"The movie inserts, in which we see the vehicles for silent film stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont as they try to make the transition to the talkies, are particularly clever." **** Guardian

"clips of film projected at regular intervals onto a screen at the back of the stage are a great touch, working brilliantly as a vehicle for comedy" **** Beaver

"Also memorable are the scenes where the film of The Deuling Cavalier is being shot. Clever use of filming on stage and then later seeing what was just filmed on a large screen, is genius." Here Is The City

VIDEO DESIGN: The Missing

The Missing opened at the Tramway last night to a fantastic welcome. The show is a series of encounters that retraces and reanimates the final journeys of sons, daughters, sisters and childhood friends; the missing. Video was produced on a semi-transparent LED wall which moves up and down the auditorium.

FILM: J. Smith Esq for Guoman Hotels 2011

I made this short for milliner Justin Smith's new 2011 collection in association with Guoman hotels - he made five different designs to be worn by doormen at the five London hotels. All sounds in the accompanying track are made from actual workshop sounds recorded on the day, and composed by Tony Wade at Sixteen.

Lovely.
